Osaka Castle vs Himeji — pay for the real one
Reddit's most repeated Kansai opinion: Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete museum in castle costume, Himeji is the genuine 1609 article an hour away. Both are right on the same day — walk Osaka's free park and moats, skip the keep, and put the ¥2,500 (the new adult price for anyone not living in Himeji) into Himeji instead.
