The Osaka Amazing Pass:
worth it at three sights, not two.
The Osaka Amazing Pass pays for itself the moment you hit three headline attractions in a single day — and almost never before that. Castle keep ¥1,200 + Tsutenkaku ¥1,500 + Umeda Sky ¥2,000 = ¥4,700 against the ¥3,500 one-day pass, before the unlimited metro rides it also covers. The catch that sinks most worked examples: Umeda Sky is free only if you enter before 15:00, so schedule it for midday, not sunset. If your day is eating, markets and neighbourhoods, buy the Osaka Metro Enjoy Eco Card instead — ¥620 on weekends and holidays, ¥820 on weekdays.
¥3,500 — and what it actually covers
First, the productThe pass changes every fiscal year, and most guides describe an older one.
The 2026 product (on sale from 25 March 2026): 1-day ¥3,500 ($22.20), 2-day ¥5,000 ($31.70), the same price for adults and children, with Itami-airport versions at ¥3,800/¥5,400 and — new on 1 October 2026 — a 28-hour Kansai Airport version at ¥5,300 that adds one Nankai ride from KIX to Namba. Both the 1-day and 2-day passes cover all 8 Osaka Metro lines, the City Bus (some routes excluded) and the New Tram, plus the Hankyu, Hanshin, Keihan, Kintetsu and Nankai lines within Osaka, and free entry to about 40 attractions.
Two rules to know: the 2026 product must be used within three months of purchase, and the product year rolls over on 1 April, so late-March arrivals should check which year's pass they are buying. It is digital/QR only — no paper version — so activation needs a working phone; store the QR before you land.

Verdict. Done in this order, the pass saves ¥2,020 per person. Move Umeda Sky to sunset and you pay ¥1,800 there (10% off after 15:00), and the saving shrinks to about ¥220. A two-sight day roughly breaks even only if both are expensive; a food-and-neighbourhoods day loses money on it every time.

Straight answersIs the Osaka Amazing Pass worth it?
At three or more paid attractions in one day, yes: Castle ¥1,200 + Umeda Sky ¥2,000 + Tsutenkaku ¥1,500 is ¥4,700 against a ¥3,500 pass, plus free trains — as long as you enter Umeda Sky before 15:00. At two attractions it's marginal, and on an eating-and-walking day it loses to the Enjoy Eco Card (¥620 weekends, ¥820 weekdays) outright.
Is the Osaka Amazing Pass worth it after the price hike?
The math still clears at three sights — attraction prices rose too (the castle doubled to ¥1,200 in April 2025, Tsutenkaku is now ¥1,500), which quietly protected the pass's value. ¥3,500 / ¥5,000 are the 2026 product's prices on the operator's site, checked October 2026.
Is there an Amazing Pass that includes the airport?
Yes, since 1 October 2026: a 28-hour Kansai Airport version at ¥5,300 adds one Nankai ride from KIX to Namba to the 1-day benefits. It only pays if you land early enough to use the attractions the same day; otherwise take the Nankai train (¥970) and buy the regular pass for your sightseeing day. Itami-airport versions cost ¥3,800 / ¥5,400.
Does the Osaka Amazing Pass include Umeda Sky Building?
Yes, but only for entry before 15:00 — after that it's just 10% off, and sunset is exactly when Umeda Sky is best. This is the single biggest planning trap on the pass: either take the daytime view, or save the visit and pay for golden hour.
Does the Osaka Amazing Pass cover USJ or the airport?
USJ, never — it isn't in any city pass. The airport, only on the new KIX version (¥5,300, one Nankai ride KIX→Namba, since 1 October 2026); the standard pass doesn't cover the Nankai Airport Express (¥970) or Haruka. It also excludes JR lines entirely, including the Loop Line.
Is the 2-day Osaka Amazing Pass worth it?
Only if both days are genuinely attraction-heavy — it's ¥5,000 for two consecutive days with the same rail coverage as the 1-day pass. Six paid sights across two days clears it comfortably; most people manage four and would've been better with one 1-day pass plus an Eco Card.
