The Osaka Amazing Pass pays for itself the moment you hit three headline attractions in a single day — and almost never before that. Castle keep ¥1,200 + Umeda Sky ¥2,000 + Tsutenkaku ¥1,200 = ¥4,400 against the ¥3,500 one-day pass, before the unlimited metro rides it also covers. But it's a sprint ticket, not a saunter ticket: if your day is eating, markets and neighbourhoods, buy the Osaka Metro Enjoy Eco Card instead — ¥620 on weekends, ¥820 weekdays — which pays back in three rides. And mind the traps below; the pass has more fine print than any competitor admits.

First, the priceEven the pass's price is contested online, which tells you everything about the state of Osaka guides.
Our figures: 1-day ¥3,500 ($22.20), 2-day ¥5,000 ($31.70), with Itami-airport-inclusive versions at ¥3,800/¥5,400 — verified August 2026. ⚠ Competing guides currently print different numbers for the same product: one major site lists ¥3,500/¥5,000, another ~¥3,300/¥5,500. They cannot both be right, nobody is auditing, and that discrepancy is exactly why every price on this site carries a verification date. The pass covers all 8 Osaka Metro lines, City Bus and the New Tram, plus 40+ attractions free; the 1-day version also rides the private railways (Hankyu, Hanshin, Keihan, Kintetsu, Nankai) within Osaka.
The validity year runs 1 April to 31 March — a pass bought for late March expires with the old year's product, which traps changeover arrivals every spring. And since June 2024 it is digital/QR only: no paper version, activation needs a working phone, and buying without a Japanese phone number is a recurring friction point — buy through a reseller like Klook and store the QR before you land.

Amazing Pass vs e-Pass — what's the difference?
The Amazing Pass bundles transport (all Osaka Metro, City Bus, and private rail on the 1-day version) with 40+ free attractions. The cheaper e-Pass is attractions-only — no trains at all. If you'd walk or already hold an IC card with credit, the e-Pass plus a ¥620 Eco Card can undercut it.
Does the Osaka Amazing Pass include Umeda Sky Building?
Yes, but only 09:30–15:00 — after that it's just 10% off, and sunset is exactly when Umeda Sky is best. This is the single biggest planning trap on the pass: either take the daytime view, or save the visit and pay ¥2,000 for golden hour.
Does the Osaka Amazing Pass cover USJ or the airport?
Neither. USJ is never included in any city pass, and the pass doesn't reach KIX — the Nankai Airport Express (¥970) or Haruka are separate purchases. It also excludes JR lines entirely, including the Loop Line.
Is the 2-day Osaka Amazing Pass worth it?
Only if both days are genuinely attraction-heavy — it's ¥5,000 for two consecutive days but drops the private railways, leaving Metro and bus only. Six paid sights across two days clears it comfortably; most people manage four and would've been better with one 1-day pass plus an Eco Card.
